I changed the name to The Psychological Flexibility Group blog.

Assessment and Orienteering Classes

Posted by  /

Using the Matrix as a structure for an Assessment and Orienteering Class (OAC) for people coming into mental health services. They create their own care plans and choose where they would like to go next in the system.

My team and I are currently building a system of “classes” to follow the AOCs, with all classes informed by functional contextualism.

So far so good.

Restricting and Expanding Matrix

Posted by  /

Kevin Polk Another simple Matrix with Restricting on the left and Expanding on the right, with Balancing in the middle.

That is, “Away” moves tend to restrict living while “Toward” moves tend to expand living. However, both are part of living, so Balance is most important.

Watch one, Do One, Teach One

Posted by  /

The old medical school saying, “Watch one, do one, teach one” applies to the Matrix.

The Matrix is about interacting with others. So if you get a chance, watch someone “doing the Matrix” with others. Then do a Matrix with others. Finally, teach someone about doing the Matrix with others.
